NFWF preserves and restores our nation’s native wildlife species and habitats. Created by Congress in 1984, NFWF directs public conservation dollars to the most pressing environmental needs and matches those investments with private funds.The Foundation works with a full complement of foundations, government agencies, nonprofits, and corporations to identify and fund the nation’s most intractable conservation challenges• Lead creation and implementation of NFWF\'s partnership with USDA, numerous non-profit conservation groups, agriculture organizations, and state agencies in creating over acres of additional migratory bird habitat in response to the Gulf Oil Spill and over $42 million dollars being raised• Serve as principal liaison with the Executive Branch, Federal Agencies as well as non-profits• Responsible for the development and implementation of legislative strategies to secure support of authorizing legislation and federal funding on behalf of NFWF conservation initiatives• Develop leads and foster opportunities for the Development Dept and assist in activities aimed at getting corporate, foundation, and private funding for foundation mission and goals.• Member of Senior Management Team responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures for the Foundation to support strategic direction.• Provide leadership for securing NFWF Congressional Authorization every five years as well as passage in the 110th Congress of HR 3891 to increase the size of the NFWF Board.• Secure funding through annual Congressional appropriations process.$14.5 million in FY08 and $15.5 million in FY09• Lead administration and management of Federal agreements with seventeen federal agencies including proposal development, tracking of funding commitments, ensuring compliance with agreements, and fulfilling reporting responsibilities.$54 million in FY11
