About David Fletcher

David is currently a Security Tester working with Black Hills Information Security (BHIS). At BHIS he enjoys the variety of challenges that security testing poses. BHIS performs a wide range of testing activity that includes physical penetration, social engineering, web, wireless, and network penetration, and embedded security assessment. Prior to working for BHIS he spent 20+ years working for the United States Air Force in several different roles ranging from installation-level network management, call center management, instructional technology development, boundary defense, and security research. His interests problem solving, music, hunting, fishing, and anything electronic.

   Performs internal and external network assessments and penetration tests by emulating current and emerging network attack methodologies; conveys findings in the context of business value and provides remediation strategies for improving overall network security posture- Performs web application assessments and penetration tests through manual interaction with open source, commercial, and custom developed web applications. Assessments go beyond traditional scanner-based assessments to include comprehensive coverage of security features- Performs mobile application assessments and penetration tests to determine security implications of adopting and supporting mobile platforms; testing includes interception/manipulation of API traffic, analysis of application artifacts, and mobile protective measures- Assesses organizations susceptibility to social engineering attacks through phishing and physical security assessments; provides feedback on improving security posture through training and awareness
