ABOUT DAVID EARLE

Dr. Earle earned a BS in Zoology from Arizona State University and his MD from the University of Arizona. His surgical training took place at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York, with a minimally invasive surgery fellowship affiliated with New York Medical College in Westchester County, NY. Dr. Earle was the founder and director of the Minimally Invasive Surgical Fellowship, was Director of the Esophageal Physiology Laboratory, and served on the board of the Baystate Medical Education and Research Foundation while at Baystate Medical Center from 19••••15. Dr. Earle has been nationally and internationally active in research, device development, and clinical care, where approximately 90% of his practice was focused on hernia repair, acting as a referral source for the Northeastern United States. He has been involved in a variety of leadership roles in national surgical societies, including the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Americas Hernia Society and the American College of Surgeons. He has been involved in hundreds of scientific articles and presentations, written numerous book chapters, and co-edited a textbook of Natural Orifice Surgery. He has substantial experience as a surgical volunteer and educator on five continents. He has worked for United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a medical officer, specializing in the evaluation of robotic assisted surgical devices, and was the Chief Medical Officer for the Healthcare Analytics Company Surgical Momentum before the company was reorganized in to CQInsights. Dr. Earle is currently the Director of the New England Hernia Center, an Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the Western Mass Regional Medical Advisor for the National Ski Patrol. His hobbies include spending time with family, mountaineering, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding, photography, and playing guitar.
