From the moment that I initially took up my role as President and first engaged formally with the Senior Management and the staff team at the NAJ I was hugely impressed by those whom I met and with what I saw. They have not let the NAJ down for a moment in my time. Not for a moment. They all quickly rose to the challenges that Covid presented, and indeed all of the many World wide challenges that we have all faced since. They willingly took on a new way of working during Covid in particular – including that quite “new” concept then of remote working. I know of many Organisations who have suffered greatly at the grip of Covid and world wide events since. Not so Team NAJ. Both our in house teams and our team of Volunteers on our Committees threw themselves with gusto and determination into dealing with all of the challenges that came our way. When the Jewellery Industry needed us most, Team NAJ was available, visible, and determinedly moving forward for the good of all. Not for a moment did they falter - and still they continue with all of their great work.Team NAJ – there are simply too many of you to mention, but from the bottom of my heart I cannot thank all of you enough. The professionalism, the competence, the commitment that you have shown over the last five years in my time as President has been quite extraordinary. It’s been a blast! Keep up the great work. God bless.

I established, own and run a Diamond and Jewellery Manufacturing, Importing & Wholesale Company called Jewellery Brokers. We make beautiful Jewellery.Jewellery Brokers operated from a Wholesale Showroom in the heart of Birmingham\'s infamous Jewellery Quarter and has been trading for almost 40 years. We now work remotely. We supplied Retailers and the like throughout the UK and abroad with everything from loose Diamonds, both Certificated and not, right through to all types of finished Jewellery too. What we cannot manufacture competitively locally we source from abroad from a network of Factories that we have dealt with for over 30 years in some instances. Most of our Factories have exclusive European Contracts of Supply with us and this helps protect both our Designs and Clients.An exciting development and progression within my Company Jewellery Brokers has been the addition of a bespoke manufacturing department whereby we work with personal Clients (who generally come to us via referral) to design and manufacture their own special piece of Jewellery. If you or anyone you know has a piece of Jewellery that they would love to have made, whether it be anything from an Engagement Ring through to a 50th Birthday Brooch, then we would be delighted to hear from you for an initial discussion about how we can help. We also enjoy “remodelling” existing pieces of jewellery so as to make them more wearable for our Clients.I sit on the Boards of various other Companies that operate primarily in the Jewellery Sector, recently had the honour of being the President of The National Association of Jewellers for five years - as well as owning and running a residential Property Portfolio and also a Holiday Lettings business just to be sure that I keep myself busy!Of late I have thrown myself back into fund raising for the cancer Wards of The Birmingham Children’s Hospital by organising annual “Cancer Leave Our Kids Alone!” Charity Balls. Our first Ball which we held at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham in April 2024 raised just over and our second Ball was held at The Grand Hotel again, in April 2025, where we raised a further £122,826 for the Hospital. Our third Charity Ball will be held at The Grand Hotel Birmingham on April 18th 2026.
