About David Denhartog
In the capacity as classroom teacher, principal, school coach, and educational entrepreneur, David has had the opportunity to teach, travel and learn throughout the United States and in many countries around the world. Fostering deep learning has been at the core of David\'s work, both with his own students and in the role of educational coach. Recognizing that collective self-efficacy is the most powerful driver of student success, David strives to help build mindsets that embrace excellence while strengthening relationships. David began his career as an award-winning classroom teacher in Iowa; later becoming a principal and founding director of a new school in Minnesota; and then moving to the southwest, working for both EL Education and Athlos Academies in coaching and leadership capacities. Through his national exposure to the education landscape and his work around the world, David recognizes that deeper learning practices and global competencies such as collaboration, character, citizenship, communication, critical thinking, and creativity form the essence of an excellent, forward thinking educational environment. The Green Schools National Network (GSNN) offers a prime opportunity for David to support a growing network of schools that embrace deeper learning and are connected through a focus on educational sustainability and environmental literacy. The core practices of GSNN directly connect to David\'s passion and previous work. As a recognized leader and collaborator, David is excited to help accelerate GSNN\'s impact.
