Manage the day-to-day activities related to terminal operations, ensuring traffic is handled and related activities are accomplished in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner. • Support and enhance the service needed to meet defined objectives within the established budget and lead in delivering services that meet and exceed customer expectations. • Responsible for setting policies, processes, and procedures that lead to safe, effective operations and ensure train and terminal plans are in harmony to minimize arrival times on inbound trains. • Maintain sufficient time to effectively unload all outbound cargo, make on-time releases of outbound trains, and reduce the amount of unproductive track time. • Provide wide-ranging leaders for facilities maintenance, upgrades, and updates in line with CSX rules and guidelines. • Determine sufficient staffing levels, establish schedules to maximize the use of clerical and contract employees, and identify training requirements, implementing training for all new employees and contractors.
