Through finance and innovation, Utah Housing Corporation (UHC) makes housing affordable for Utah families.UHC is the State of Utah’s Housing Finance Agency. We issue debt obligations to fund the purchase of single family mortgage loans that help low- and moderate-income Utah families purchase decent, safe, and affordable homes, providing down payment assistance to the vast majority of those homebuyers. We service those mortgage loans to ensure that homeowners receive excellent service and fair treatment should they experience economic hardship. We provide down payment assistance to most of the homebuyers we assist.UHC is Utah’s allocator of state and federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits, which serve as a substantial source of equity to finance the construction of multi-family housing projects, helping to build and maintain the stock of affordable rental housing for Utahns and their families.We are also the conduit issuer of Utah’s private activity bonds allocated to affordable multifamily housing developments, and we also administer an array of programs that achieve the development and financing of affordable housing in rural Utah.
