David is now an Architect in the System Performance & Architecture team at Apple. David comes to SPA as an expert in the domains of Graphics & Virtualization having worked for 22 years at Intel Corporation, ultimately in the Software Architecture Office within AXG. David has researched, prototyped, implemented and deployed technologies that maximize the value of Intel’s graphics accelerators for workloads on virtualized platforms for more than 10 years. David delivered the most recent generation of virtualized graphics for Intel Xe Graphics (including Iris, Flex and Max Series) with HW support framed in the SR-IOV standard in 2022/23. Through his years of pathfinding research and development in graphics virtualization and remoting David has established himself as an expert in the domains of client, server and embedded virtualization, functional safety for graphics systems, display remoting, and the large variety of media and 3D-rich uses cases that are now being deployed in a wide range of virtualized domains. David has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.
