ABOUT DAVID COLETTO
David Coletto leads Abacus Data’s team of research consultants and strategists, delivering strategic advice and research design expertise to some of Canada’s leading corporations, advocacy groups, and political leaders. He runs the only research firm that can help your business respond to the unprecedented threat of generational change and technological disruption. He and his team have spent the last two years understanding how the pandemic will change commerce, investing, work, and politics. He applies that knowledge to the design and execution of research, storytelling, and strategy. David leads the public polling team at Abacus Data having conducted some of the most accurate polling estimates in the 2019 and 2021 Canadian elections. David has travelled the world speaking to large conventions and small executive teams about how a Reset Mindset is needed now more than ever to adapt to changes in technology and generational churn. Earning a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Calgary in 2010, Coletto’s dissertation research centred around candidates who run in Canadian general elections and looked at how the qualities of candidates and the local conditions in which they run affect the outcome of the campaign. He challenged the orthodoxy that Canadian elections are decided only by national factors and demonstrated that local factors, like the candidate, can have a major impact on the performance of political parties in constituency elections. His research on Canadian elections and political parties has been cited in the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and the Toronto Star. Specialties: Polling, public speaking, marketing research, consumer research, online survey methodologies, public opinion research, Canadian politics, constituency elections, candidate fundraising, political commentary
