ABOUT DAVID CLAY
I am a Legal Director in the firm\'s Employment team. Known for a thorough and detailed approach to my work, I draw on a wealth of legal and practical experience to help employers navigate an ever-changing employment law landscape. A reliable and responsive lawyer, I build long-lasting relationships with my clients by providing strategic advice which takes account of real-world pressures and objectives. While my expertise spans the full range of employment law issues, I have a particular interest in cases involving disability discrimination, senior level exits and the ‘IR35’ intermediaries legislation. I also enjoy advising on niche and developing areas of the law, and am adept at dealing with matters requiring bespoke drafting solutions. I regularly handle litigation in the employment tribunal and work in tandem with our corporate team on employment issues arising from business investments, sales and acquisitions (including in insolvency scenarios).I have presented to rooms of 50+ attendees on handling employment law issues in practice and I also run smaller round-table training sessions for HR professionals and others with a keen interest in HR matters. In addition to my client-facing work, I play a key role in ensuring the team’s suite of precedent documents is always maintained to a high standard. I also frequently contribute to articles, webinars and seminars on the latest developments in employment law. I am a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association.
