ABOUT DAVID CICERO
I am a finance professor with a legal background. I teach courses on corporate finance and investments to undergraduate, MBA/MSF, and PhD students. The bulk of my research examines the behaviors of executives in public companies, with a particular focus on CEO ethics and the agency costs that executives impose on the other stakeholders in their firms. I also have expertise in corporate governance, including the roles of institutional investors and boards of directors. My work in these areas has been published in the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, Contemporary Accounting Research, and the Journal of Corporate Finance. It has also been discussed in popular news outlets including the Wall Street Journal and Businessweek, among others.Some of my more recent work evaluates how mutual fund managers gather information about public companies and whether there is a local advantage to information gathering.
