I’ve spent 13 years in primary schools — teaching, observing, listening, and learning what really helps children thrive.In that time I’ve sat across from hundreds of parents. Some confident, some nervous, most just wanting someone to give it to them straight. I’ve worked with children carrying enormous weight — trauma, anxiety, loss, instability — children whose potential was completely real but who needed someone to understand what was getting in the way.That experience has changed how I see education. Because the longer I spent in classrooms, the more I understood what was missing — not inside schools, but around them. Families who needed someone who could translate the system. Children who needed someone in their corner outside the classroom. Parents who just needed to talk to someone who genuinely got it.That’s why I built Braythorpe.What Braythorpe doesBraythorpe is a family education support service — helping parents navigate the school system with confidence, and helping primary age children build the resilience, mindset and self-belief to thrive.We work with everyday families who are worried about something. We work with families navigating a system that doesn’t always understand what their child has been through. And we work with schools who want to do better for their most vulnerable pupils.
