Employed within the Princess Royal College of Animal Management and Saddlery (also known as the Department of Animal Management and Saddlery). Teaching predominantly on the higher education FdSc and BSc (Hons) programmes in Animal Management and Zoology validated by the Royal Agricultural University, as well as the Access to Higher Education Diploma programmes in Veterinary Science and Animal Science and Welfare. Also providing some teaching on further education courses.Involved in the ongoing Eurasian beaver reintroduction project in partnership with Enfield Council. Duties include running tests on water samples to assess environmental suitability and checking camera trap footage.Founder and Chair of the Zoology, Ecology and Conservation Research Group (ZECRG). Research themes include assessing animal behaviour and welfare in a zoo setting, investigating the effects of ecosystem engineering Eurasian beavers on species richness (part of the beaver reintroduction project), and using GIS tools and palaeontological data to track future distributions of invasive and native species with climate change and inform conservation planning.Higher Education Responsibilities:• Module leader for the following modules: Zoo Animal Husbandry and Enrichment (Level 4); Animal Management Placement Module (Level 5); Applied Technology (Level 6).• Course management for the Level 6 cohort (2024-present).• Supervising undergraduate research projects.Access to Higher Education Responsibilities:• Leading the following Veterinary Science course units: Anatomy and Physiology; Biology - Cell Division, Genetics and Genetic Applications; Biology - Communication and Homeostasis; Biology - Biochemistry and Energetics.• Leading the following Animal Science and Welfare course units: Land-Based Skills, Introduction to the Land-Based Sector; Business.• Course management for the Animal Science and Welfare cohort (20••••24).• Supervising Access to Higher Education research projects.
