Lead in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process control requirements, layout complexity, cost, quality and lead-time limits- Lead the ground up implementation of design standards for HMIs, PLCs, equipment, SCADA and automated systems- Coach projects design and installations for production equipment, compliant with manufacturing best practices- Design, modify, and approve electrical schematics for manufacturing and test equipment (Compliant with NFPA79/NEC/UL508A standards)- Implement control reliable safety systems for high volume manufacturing equipment (Compliant with ANSI/OSHA standards)- Assist with risk assessments and implement findings for current or new designs- Introduce manufacturing equipment into production, and train and Maintenance and Production Teams to support after deployment- Develop and implement strategies to meet leverage Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) targets to deliver cost-effective solutions to our internal customer- Manage suppliers during specification, design review, design approval and implementation for new manufacturing lines- Develop efficient cost-effective means of equipment operation and maintenance - Characterize and validate automated processes using a data driven approach with Capacity and Capability statistical tests (Repeatability, Reproducibility, Cpk, KPIs)- Develop, coach, and mentor engineers on the team, while also organizing and delivering regular feedback- Supports peers and junior staff with knowledge sharing and is the “go to” technical resource when staff meet technical obstacles.
