About David Buchanan

Dave is a father of four, a husband to one, and an athlete more in memory than reality. On the work-front, Dave is a lawyer and senior partner in the New York-based trial firm, Seeger Weiss LLP. Dave and his team at Seeger Weiss represent individual and corporate plaintiffs in state and federal courts throughout the country. His practice is a trial practice, focused on litigating and trying complex commercial and products liability matters. Substantively, Dave’s docket involves cases concerning a wide variety of subjects, ranging from products liability claims, trade secrets, commercial disputes, pension challenges, securities and investment fraud, and consumer claims. Though the scope of his cases is broad, the common thread is that they are large, national, high-stakes cases, generally destined for trial. By their nature, the cases that Dave focuses on are often centered in federal multi-district proceedings or analogous state coordinated proceedings. There, he is often selected by his co-counsel or appointed by the courts to lead these mass consolidated or class actions, either as liaison counsel, lead counsel, or as a member of plaintiffs’ executive/steering committee. Notable litigation appointments include service as lead, liaison, or related committee leadership in, among others, the Vioxx, Accutane, NFL Concussion Injury, DePuy ASR, Gadolinium, and Yaz litigations. In several of these and other cases, Dave has served as plaintiffs’ lead or co-trial counsel in the bellwether trials that helped define and resolve those litigations. Dave has been recognized more broadly for excellence in the profession and his fields of expertise through various peer review honors, including Lawyer of the Year, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Top Attorneys. He is also a fellow of the International Society of Barristers, and is rated \"AV Preeminent\" for excellence in the legal profession by Martindale-Hubbell.
