About David Bernahl

Bernahl was the CEO & Co-Founder of Coastal Luxury Management, widely recognized for creating and producing Pebble Beach Food & Wine and the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festivals. The festivals hosted more than 250 celebrity chefs and 350 internationally acclaimed wineries each year, welcoming more than attendees. Under Bernahl’s leadership, CLM’s restaurant division created a host of nationally award-winning concepts. Cannery Row Brewing Company opened with the largest tap beer selection in NorCal, had features on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, Rachael Ray, and California’s Michelin Guide. Restaurant 1833 was nominated for “Best New Restaurant” by the Beard Foundation, named “Best of the Best” by Robb Report, and the \"Hottest restaurant in Monterey County\" by Michael Bauer of the SF Chronicle, earning 3.5 Stars. Rose. Rabbit. Lie. at the Cosmopolitan of LV was recognized as “Best New Las Vegas Restaurant” by Modern Luxury and Zagat. Faith & Flower was listed as Los Angeles’ best new restaurant by numerous publications and earned Top 10 New Restaurants in the country.CLM provided boutique marketing and events for brands such as Lexus, Toyota, LVMH, Dom Perignon, Chase Private Client, American Institute of Wine & Food, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Dick Clark Productions, and the American Music Awards. Bernahl was Co-Founder & CEO of Pacific Tweed, a luxe apparel firm which was recognized as one of the top 50 specialty stores in the U.S. He is Chairman Emeritus for CASA of Monterey County and a past board member of the National Food & Beverage Foundation, and the California International Relations Foundation, an organization that represents the CA State Senate in economic development conversations with the international community abroad. He is Past President of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Advisory Council, Past-Chairman of the Monterey County Workforce Investment Board, past board member of Monterey County Bank and Northern California Bancorp (NYSE: NRLB), past board member of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Club of Northern California, and the Chaines Des Rotisseurs. He sits on the advisory board for FestForums and is a retired member of Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow. Bernahl was honored to have an endowment fund created in his name, the David Alan Bernahl, II Local Heroes Fund, dedicated to the ongoing support of CASA. He has been a frequent keynote speaker and panelist at businesses, colleges, and conferences on the topics of entrepreneurship, new venture creation, charitable pursuits, and festivals.
