About David Beauzil
David O. Beauzil is currently an ELA teacher with the NYCDOE and Adjunct Professor at CUNY Queens College, Teacher\'s College, Columbia University and New York University. He graduated in 2014 from St. John\'s University in Jamaica, NY with a Bachelor of Arts in English and then went on to receive his Master of Arts in Teaching from CUNY Queens College in 2019. He completed his student teaching experience at Valley Stream South High School. In 2016, David worked as a substitute teacher and then as a teacher assistant in the Valley Stream School District 24. In 2017, he went on to serve as an Academic Tutor at Hungtington Learning Center and next as a SEEK Program Supplemental Instructor & Writing Consultant at CUNY Queens College until 2019. He also has been recently the recipient of the NYC Men Teach Role Model Award in 2023.Currently, as a Ph.D. Candidate at Teachers College at Columbia University in the City of New York, David envisions bringing a wealth of unique experiences to provide equitable opportunities for scholars in urban schools and excellent educational tools that will impact scholars positively. He also continues to work in education because it gives him the joy to see scholars grow in mind, body, and spirit. David serves to give back to his community through teaching the subject of English. He is able to empower them through the importance of reading, writing, listening, and speaking so that they can become leaders/change-makers in our present society. In his spare time, David also enjoys personal training, playing the piano, and traveling the world.
