ABOUT DAVID B. APPAU
David Appau is the Assistant Director of Medical Information and Quality Assurance at NYC Health and Hospitals Lincoln, where he is responsible for overseeing and guiding hospital wide departmental performance improvement projects from the identification of needed performance; through to their completion; and continues to track all projects post-completion to monitor their sustainment. Serving as a liaison between the Quality Department and medical and administrative departments, David promotes and facilitates performance improvement through educational training on frameworks like Lean A3 methodology, PDSA/PDCA cycles, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement model for change. He identifies improvement opportunities to ensure regulatory compliance and offers feedback on safety and quality initiatives.
