Director of Engineering for the Data Platform and AI vertical at Imagine Learning, leading a globally distributed team of 40 across the US, UK, EU and India. My organisation includes Software Engineering Managers, Software and Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, SDETs and Architects, focused on building scalable Data infrastructure and AI-driven solutions to power new features in Imagine Learning’s product suite.I am responsible for technical strategy, health and delivery across a broad portfolio, including data lakes and pipelines, AI content generation, data analytics, data science based research, and GenAI model evaluation and benchmarking for EdTech. I partner closely with Product, Design and GTM functions to bring AI into the classroom meaningfully and responsibly. Recent work includes launching production LLM-powered features for Imagine EdgeEX and Imagine Learning Classroom, as well as internal platforms for AI experimentation, benchmarking and data analysis.As a people leader, I prioritise clarity, career development and psychological safety. I also support others across the business on their use of AI where it is vital, ranging from supporting the deployment of LLM agents and orchestration frameworks to traditional ML models and Snowflake-native AI features which improve efficiency, decision-making and student outcomes.Finally, I also support HR and Operations in the UK with efforts around being a mediator for an internal employee forum and ensuring UK cultural contexts are understood by those in leadership in the US, and vice versa across verticals in the UK.

I bring a range of skills from my varied experience as a leader, teacher and software engineer. These include systems architecture and analysis, interviewing to rapidly and appropriately scale up effective teams, coordination and management of projects to meet stakeholder requirements, agile lead / scrum master and team coordination, effective 1:1s and growth oriented people management, mentorship and training, and presenting to key stakeholders and large groups alike. I’ve led teams building bespoke solutions in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, DevOps, CRM software, CMS software, e-commerce, and finance. These specialties are in a large range of fields including Education, Recruitment, Insurance, Energy, Healthcare, Automotive Sales, Marketing and Security. Education and certification are intrinsic to my motivation, and I love to study formally where I can. Outside of work and study I like to be with my family and friends, I enjoy watching international rugby and Formula 1, and indulge my gamer side on my PS5.
