I joined the US Air Force in 1970 during the Vietnam War. I trained to become a certified cartographer and map compiler. I was stationed at the 15th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron at March AFB in Riverside, California. Our command translated aerial photographs into precise guidance systems for mission-critical operations. We made maps the old-fashioned way, long before Google Maps was a glint in its founders\' eyes.The G.I. Bill made attending USC a reality, where I completed undergraduate and graduate studies. Subsequently, I studied law at Loyola University Law School in Los Angeles.My military and legal studies sparked a passion for risk assessment, reduction, and secure system analytics.In 1979, I co-founded Moffitt & Associates, specializing in Real Property law. In twenty-five years, that firm helped thousands of landlords manage nearly a quarter-million breach-of-lease matters. This experience led me to conclude that every eviction and breach is about failure—the failure of a family to pay rent, or of a business to manage operations. Not always, but sometimes, it was the failure to store communication records securely and administer operations meticulously that compounded confusion and increased the likelihood of litigation over defaults or breach of lease or purpose terms. We built the PropTech industry from the ground up.In 1994, I founded CreditLink Corporation to provide background checks and rent collection services.
