About David A. Youngberg
David Youngberg is a seasoned risk executive and an expert in risk framework design and implementation. Before moving to Dallas to build out risk capabilities in that office, David was the global chief operating officer of the Risk Division in Goldman Sachs. In this capacity, Youngberg spent a decade expanding the risk capabilities and related governance of the Division in the period after the Financial Crisis, integrating the separate risk disciplines into a comprehensive Division in the face of increasing regulatory expectations. Prior to this role, David had various experiences as a credit risk executive focused on natural resource and utility companies, covering both lending and traded commodity risk at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. After graduating from United States Military Academy, David served as an engineer officer in the U.S. Army for 13 years prior to joining Goldman Sachs. After leaving active duty, he continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves, eventually retiring as a Colonel. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom and his awards include the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star with “V” device.
