GeoVax Labs, Inc,(Nasdaq: GOVX) is a Phase 2 clinical-stage biotechnology company developing human vaccines and immunotherapies against various infectious diseases and cancers. The Company has two Phase 2 products in three active clinical trials: • GEO-CM04S1, a SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 vaccine (“CM04S1”), currently in two advancing Phase 2 trials: o Covid-19 vaccine trial #1: The first such trial worldwide relative to a Covid-19 primary vaccine for immunocompromised individuals, in a direct comparison to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine which has shown to be insufficient for patient with compromised immune systems. CM04S1 induces both antibody and cellular (T-cells) immunity versus the currently authorized vaccines (Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and J&J) which primarily induce only antibody immune responses. The dual targeting of both antibody and cellular immunity is anticipated to provide more robust and durable protection than the current authorized vaccines, which are being recognized as inadequate for such patients – there are approximately 10-15 million individuals in the U.S. with compromised immune systems. o Covid-19 vaccine trial #2: CM04S1 is being evaluated as a booster to the current mRNA authorized vaccines, recognizing that a heterologous booster approach (i.e, primary: mRNA; booster: GEO-CM04S1) is likely to provide a more robust, more durable immune protection than simply providing a 3rd, 4th, etc. shot of a mRNA vaccine. This is especially critical as new Variants of Concern (VOCs) emerge as the Covid-19 virus continues to evolve. • Gedeptin®, a cancer immunotherapy, exclusively licensed from PNP Therapeutics; it is currently in an expanded, accelerating multi-site Phase 2 trial: o Evaluating Gedeptin as therapy for patients with Advanced Head & Neck Cancers; the FDA is partially funding the Ph2 program via the FDA Orphan Drugs Clinical Trials program; Gedeptin has received Orphan Drug status designation.
