As a Commercial Officer at one of the UK’s largest bus operators, I play a key role in shaping and optimising regional bus networks to deliver efficient, reliable, and passenger-focused services. My role spans strategic planning, operational delivery, and regulatory compliance - ensuring services meet both commercial objectives and public expectations.Key responsibilities include- Planning and optimising regional bus networks, duties, and driver rotas- Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with Department for Transport (DfT) requirements- Collaborating with internal teams across Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Group Business Support and IT to improve schedule efficiency, analyse fare and passenger data, and enhance real-time tracking across digital platforms- Working closely with local authorities and the Traffic Commissioner to coordinate local and cross-regional services and ensure timely, accurate registration submissionsI take a data-led approach to decision-making, drawing on internal data such as passenger counts and travel trends, alongside operational performance metrics. This enables us to deliver services that are not only commercially sustainable but also responsive to changing passenger needs.I also hold a Category D licence with practical on-road bus driving experience.
