I host Business of Tech, a daily news and analysis podcast covering the business of IT services, including managed service providers (MSPs), vendors, and the broader IT services ecosystem. I’m also the owner of MSP Radio, a media and education platform serving IT service providers and the vendors, distributors, and platforms that support them, including Small Biz Thoughts and IT Service Provider University. I owned and operated an IT solution provider and MSP for over a decade, including acquiring other firms and ultimately being acquired. That business was recognized multiple times, including as a finalist for Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year (Small Business Specialist). Following that chapter, I held senior leadership roles at technology vendors including Level Platforms, GFI, LogicNow, and SolarWinds, where I led community programs, events, marketing strategy, product strategy, and M&A initiatives supporting MSP partners and the channel. In addition to Business of Tech, I co-host Killing IT and authored Virtualization: Defined. I’ve been recognized as a CRN Channel Chief, CRN UK A-List member, Channel Futures Circle of Excellence awardee, MSPmentor 250 honoree, and Microsoft MVP for Virtualization. I’ve also served on multiple industry advisory councils, including CompTIA’s Managed Services and Emerging Technologies Executive Council. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the College of William & Mary. I live outside Washington, DC with my wife and two cats.
