About John Sandford

I’m John Sandford, author of the Lucas Davenport (Prey) and Virgil Flowers thriller series. I’ve been writing books for over 30 years now, and I’m still at it because I love what I do: telling stories about smart, flawed people trying to figure things out sometimes with a badge, sometimes not. Before fiction, I was a newspaper reporter. I covered crime, politics, the Midwest, and a lot of human nature. That work earned me a Pulitzer Prize, but more importantly, it taught me how to listen, observe, and write clean. These days, I spend my time writing novels, working on screen adaptations, and talking with readers, many of whom have been with me since Rules of Prey. If you’re one of them, thank you.
