About Dave King

Dave has experience in both County and Municipal law enforcement. Starting as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department in March 1983, he served at the Twin Peaks substation in the San Bernardino mountains until October 1986, then served as a full time Deputy Sheriff. Assigned to the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center from 1987 to 1989. During that time, he was a member of the GHRC gang unit, compiling intelligence and information on documented and undocumented gang members. He provided information on several homicides that led to arrests and or convictions of gang members. An initial member of the San Bernardino Regional Gang unit (S.M.A.S.H.) One of three authors for the gang intervention program C.H.O.I.C.E.S. selected by DOJ as a leading gang intervention program in the country at the time. Developed informants, wrote and served search warrants for narcotics and stolen property while working as Deputy Sheriff in Twin Peaks. Earned a 10851 award from the California Highway Patrol for work recovering stolen vehicles and breaking up a theft ring targeting motorcycles. Transferred to the Vancouver Police Department in Jan, 1993 and has held positions of Patrol Officer, Intelligence Officer, Patrol Supervisor, Intelligence Unit Supervisor, PIO, Case Management Supervisor, Dignitary Team Supervisor, Mounted Patrol Team member, Special Operations Lt, SWAT Commander, Patrol Lt, Patrol Commander and Technical Services Commander. Incident Commander for Trump rallys and Antifa/Proud Boys demonstrations. His experience in education prior to his law enforcement career has served him as a trainer and teacher at both the San Bernardino County Sheriff Dept and Vancouver Police Department. Writing a law enforcement column for the Foothill News, SEBA \"Rap Sheet\" for SBSO deputies and \"Farm Fact\'s\" for the Vancouver Police Officers Guild, Dave has informed both the public and fellow law enforcement on critical topics in a humorous way.
