ABOUT DAVE HEMBROUGH

I am a coach and academic at Sheffield Hallam University. As a research fellow I specialise in knowledge transfer with a focus on sport, physical activity and social change.My interests are in helping people, particularly those in marginalised circumstances, through the use of sport and physical activity. We know sport and PA is good for us but it\'s not delivered purposely often enough for the non physical benefits. That\'s what I\'m interested in. I\'m the founder and head coach of mettle weightlifting and strength training club where I bring these interests to life. I chair the Sheffield Children\'s, Youths and Families Consortium and I\'m also involved in teaching and learning at the University.I have Olympic, Commonwealth and World Championship experience in a range of sports as a strength & conditioning coach. I now focus on using these experiences and skills to make the world a better place especially focusing on marginalised communities and none athlete populations.Other interests include food, wine, coffee and headspace.
