About Dave Hedge
My path into academia wasn’t exactly a straight line — and honestly, I think that’s made me a better teacher.I came to the classroom with real business and communications experience, and I try to make that useful every day. I don’t have all the answers, but I do my best to connect what we’re covering to how things actually work out there — no fluff, just practical content students can use.What I love most is that I get to work with some really different kinds of students. Military cadets. Student athletes. Commuters juggling jobs and family alongside their coursework. Each group brings a different perspective, and figuring out how to reach all of them keeps me sharp. When you find the angle that clicks for a particular student — when that light bulb comes on — there’s nothing better. I don’t take it for granted that people trust me with a role in their education, and I try to honor that every day.Beyond the classroom, I’m fortunate to serve as Business Department Program Dean and Communications Curriculum Chair.
