Developer with sole responsibility for the development of the UKRI web site. Utilising CI/CD technologies to deliver an AWS based Wordpress system.\\\\n\\\\nAs part of the £1.4million project to amalgamate all nine research councils into one UKRI wide web site I designed and developed the CI/CD environment. The pipeline is structured as follows\\\\n• Local development solutions utilise a Docker Desktop based environment running containerised versions of the entire project. With codebase from the central GitHub repository.\\\\n• Local developments are then merged and managed using GitHub to act as the central development and version control hub.\\\\n• From GitHub via Jenkins automation deployments are pushed to preconfigured environments within the AWS platform again utilising containerised platforms for efficiency.\\\\n• Three environments are hosted on AWS, a platform for developers testing live within AWS, a stage environment for UAT and lastly a production environment for hosting the live and publicly visible web service.\\\\n• Data storage is handled using Amazon RDS and file storage using Amazon EFS with traffic to the sites being managed via a load balancer and using that standard auto scaling capabilities of Amazon EC2.\\\\nThe benefits of this system are many fold\\\\n• Seamlessly fits with the Agile methodologies.\\\\n• New developers can be brought online quickly.\\\\n• No reliance of proprietary or in-house applications.\\\\n• Broad use of industry standard open source products and methodologies improves the ability to expand skill base quickly as and required.\\\\n• Using the containerised approach, the development environments can be deployed across Windows/Linux/Mac appliances easily.\\\\n\\\\n
