ABOUT DAVE WILLIAMS

A highly experienced Public Health Strategist and Transformation Professional, with more than twenty five years’ expertise gained working in senior operational and policy roles within the NHS, Welsh Government and Regional Agencies: building long term partner relationships as a foundation for success, as well as successfully managing urgent service pressures directly impacting on individuals, their lives and wellbeing. In recognition of these personal qualities and depth of experience, has been appointed to multiple board level and public positions: most recently, Chair (six years) Trustee and Board Member (twelve years) with Children in Wales; Chair of the East Wales Regional Suicide and Self Harm Prevention Board; Board Member of the UK Trauma Council; Cambridge University Public Health Board, Governance Board Member with the National Adoption Service, and Chair of the NHS Wales CAMHS improvement board.Has successfully built and maintained long term strategic partnerships throughout his career with a broad range of governmental and public sector agencies: creating a common language and shared goals, whilst at the same time minimising unhealthy competition, myths and misunderstandings. As Chair of the South East Wales Regional Suicide and Self Harm Prevention Group, collaboratively develops and implements practical policies, as well as producing support materials, to help those suffering from thoughts of self-harm or otherwise affected by suicide; and as a Member of the Core Welsh Government COVID Response Team, played an integral role in ensuring full continuity of mental health services during the pandemic.Chaired the Wales Five Year Review into Child Death: delivering advice on better care structures, and identifying new risk factors impairing service delivery; and as Service and Divisional Director with the Aneurin Bevan Health Board, created a new multi-agency advisory structure: radically moving away from a legacy narrative plan to a multi sectoral and multi-agency model. With NHS Wales Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, conducted a comprehensive transformation programme: responding constructively to NAO reports, and ensuring models for ongoing care standards were safe, sustainable, and affordable.Clinical Lead for the Mental Health ProgrammeTo find out more, send an InMail.
