ABOUT DAVID WEBB

Coming from a transport operations background, I managed a large scale FMCG transport operation, specialising in temperature controlled operations in the Tesco distribution network. I then spent 2 years working as a commercial Project Manager dealing with a range of predominantly fresh suppliers, managing end to end supply chain projects.Following that I moved into an online retail operations team, leading projects and strategy development within Tesco\'s online grocery operation. As well as improving the customer proposition of Tesco.com, this work delivered £3M in cost savings through operational efficiencies.I then did 5 years in leading a team providing suppliers with detailed insights into customer behavior, sales and web analytics for Ocado. In that time I built the team up from 2 to 12 analysts, signing the largest suppliers up to the Ocado supplier insights proposition. I was responsible for creating and delivering the pitch for new suppliers, managing the team’s personal development, taking the lead in team training and developing and implementing best practice.As part of that role I took the opportunity to build tools to commercialise the analysis. This work has delivered over £9M in direct incremental profit to the business, with additional benefits coming from an improved customer proposition and more effective sales strategies. As a result of the successful implementation of this, my current role involves further development of this platform, looking driving additional value for the business through both direct revenue creation and making better analytics available internally.
