I have been involved in Gear Manufacturing for over 34 years and held various positions within this field including, Lathe operator Gear Cutting Leader Gear/Spline Grind Leader Plant Supervisor Project Engineer Tooling Engineer Manufacturing Engineering Manager Production Control Supervisor Quality Inspector Able to operate OD, ID Grinders, Mills, Broaching Machines and perform NDT Testing, De-Burring, Assembly, Shipping.I have also been the lead on the start up of a new Gear Division for a Large Aerospace OEM. The objective was to support all the internal gearing needs for this company and to evolve this division to compete within the gear component industry. We indentified all the equipment needed to support internal needs, created the department floor plan using lean manufacturing ideologies and were fully functional within 6 months. This division was able to bring in house 95% of their outsourced gear products and add 1.5 million in new business within 1 ½ years of implementation. By controlling these comities “in house” we were able to reduce lead-time in excess of 50% on gear operations and reduce the cost of these procedures by 35%.I started my own Company called Gearing Solutions LLC in 2002. I was The President of this company and directly controlled all Sales and Operations. This company was in business for 7 years and I grew Sales to over 1 Million per year with a direct labor workforce of 6 employees. I closed this company in 2009 due to the partner issues and to pursue other interests.
