Hi! My name is Dave Packard and I am a highly motivated software engineer with a strong background in team leadership, execution management, and personal accountability. I’m currently enrolled as a student in General Assembly’s Software Engineering Immersive Remote program. Prior to enrolling, I worked as an Executive Team Leader at Target. During my 11 years there, I was promoted four times, worked in three different states, and filled many different roles including daily operations of an $80M/year store with more than 300 team members, new store setup, and training, mentoring, and promoting talent across the district. Since starting at General Assembly, I have gained a firm understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, NodeJS, ExpressJS, and MongoDB. By the time I complete the course in July, I will have added ReactJS, Python, and Django.    Full-time front-end developer working on a web-based user interface for a Linux-based embedded product suite. Products are well-established in the industry and are not typical embedded products. Products are used by public safety, military, and commercial customers for solving audio connectivity problems. User interface is interactive, communicating with the backend webserver via REST service calls and a WebSocket. Backend webserver is homegrown and written in C++; there is no Java or Node.js involved.
