Presents recommendations relating to rolling stock asset condition and management.Works to identify future needs with respect to rolling stock such as ridership projections, new or expanded services, and private partnerships.Formulates and prepares strategic plans, budgets, and schedules for assigned rolling stock projects.Recommends strategies, comprehensive project identifications, and prioritization approaches for enhancing fleet reliability through procurement and reliability programs.Leads the research in new technologies that can be used to enhance rolling stock operations, improve customer experience, and help provide a path to a more sustainable rolling stock fleet.Works to evaluate progress of transition to zero-emissions fleet and recommend internal policy updates.Monitors federal/state policies and regulations for effects on fleet procurement.Collaborates to efficiently and strategically plan the procurement, retirement, and reliability programs of the rolling stock fleets.Identifies future rolling stock needs.Conducts research and data collection directly through physical inspection of rolling stock.
