   Serves as the official point of contact and focal point for the collection and dissemination of transportation related information from other Operating Administrations, Federal support agencies, and the private sector on actual or potential crisis situations• Implements current and emerging regional emergency transportation plans and programs to provide continuity and resiliency.• Performs very broad and complex liaison activities and assignments related to transportation emergency planning, response, and recovery which are of significant interest to the Secretary of Transportation, DOT Operating Administrations, state, tribal and local governments, voluntary and non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.• Maintains frequent contacts with top public sector transportation officials and decision makers, other Federal departments and agencies, Congressional staff, state, tribal and local governments, and community officials in structured and unstructured settings.• Frequently visits sites and communities throughout the serviced regional area that may involve moderate risks of discomfort to include travel to disaster sites or field operations centers under austere conditions. • Provides backup support to other Regions in support of the Office of Intelligence, Security, and Emergency Response (S60) National Response Program• Recruits and trains cadre from the various Operating Administrations for the DOT’s Regional Emergency Transportation Program. • Works collaboratively with Emergency Support Functions to ensure coordinated responses during emergencies. • Coordinates Regional Emergency Transportation Response teams in response to incidents and performs the National Response Framework functions at the Regional and field centers • Completes required training and maintains proficiency in program tools such as WebEOC. • Develops/participates in exercises to develop and maintain expertise and cultivate partnerships.
