While my specialism is observational meteorology, my career has taken me through most roles in the \"weather business\" including research, operations, corporate, customer-facing *and* being the customer.My particular interests are- helping our customers (including the public) optimise their own decision-making using observational and forecast information that carries a degree of inescapable, but often quantifiable, uncertainty- the development of cost effective operational observing networks to improve our current knowledge of the atmosphere and therefore improve forecast accuracy- maximising the application of our science through a mix of fully understanding the problems that our customers are trying to solve, supporting innovation and improving knowledge sharing.
