ABOUT DAVE JAKUBEK
Driven by a deep passion for sports nutrition, I’m actively pursuing a career as a Registered Sports Dietitian with the ultimate goal of earning the Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential. I’m especially motivated by the opportunity to help athletes perform at their highest level, recover efficiently, and stay healthy through evidence-based nutrition strategies tailored to their training demands and goals. As a Master’s student in the Public Health – Registered Dietitian program at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Zilber College of Public Health, I’ve had the chance to work with diverse populations—including collegiate athletes, women and children, long-term care residents, and college students. These experiences have strengthened my ability to translate nutrition science into practical, performance-focused recommendations. Through my food service rotation at Marquette University, I gained hands-on experience in menu planning, quality improvement, and large-scale operations—skills that directly support athlete fueling logistics at the team level. Currently, I’m in my MNT rotation, where I’m expanding my clinical knowledge and developing my ability to assess complex cases, manage medical nutrition therapies, and build strong interprofessional communication skills—foundations that are critical for any sports RD working with athletes in both high-performance and recovery settings. Whether I’m leading cooking demos, building individualized fueling plans, or creating educational resources, I’m always focused on how nutrition can drive better outcomes. I’m especially passionate about whole foods, functional nutrition, and creating sustainable fueling habits that work beyond the playbook. I’m actively seeking opportunities in the sports nutrition field where I can continue to grow, contribute meaningfully, and move closer to becoming a CSSD. Let’s connect—I’d love to collaborate on fueling performance through smart, strategic nutrition.
