As adjunct faculty in the College of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, I teach CE-475: Civil Infrastructure and Building Systems.(I call the class \"How Buildings Work.\") This is a course for fourth-year students in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Environmental Engineering that covers the mechanical, electrical, and energy systems within buildings. Topics include energy benchmarking, traditional and alternative HVAC systems, utility connections, passive and active solar systems, building controls, and zero-net-energy buildings.
