I have explored and studied a variety of roles and fields throughout my years - from counterterrorism investigations to leading the US government\'s initial response to crypto back in 2009; from running global operations for Google\'s payments compliance to researching, designing, and developing advanced machine learning capabilities in privacy, safety, security, identity, and risk.I\'m no stranger to career-evolution, even if it\'s along a branching path. I value exploration in that it allows me to see problems from different perspectives and identify commonalities across areas that may seem disparate. There is a time and a place for both set paths and exploration. Knowing when to pursue which is the hard part.The focus of my work has primarily been in the field of financial crime/fraud, including money laundering, cyber-enabled crime, infosec, pen testing, cryptocurrency, and counterterrorism/intelligence, as well as envisioning, designing, and building FinTech, RegTech, identity, and security solutions.Over the years, I have advised and spoken at numerous events (ACAMS, WCAML, AWE/ARE) and for a multitude of public and private entities (including law enforcement, intelligence, and military agencies) about potential avenues of exploitation and privacy/security concerns in a myriad of diverse areas such as payment systems, crytpocurrency, AR/VR technologies, and internet/telecom architecture.I have also helped start several cryptocurrency task forces at the federal and local levels, advised on regulations, and wrote the initial seizure protocols for a federal agencies. My most recent exploration has taken me into learning more about agentic/agentive design.
