The Captain of the Investigative Division has direct control and supervision over all officers and civilian employees assigned to the Investigative Division of the Canton Police Department. The Investigative Division includes the Detective and Juvenile Bureau, the Crime Scene Unit, The Special Investigations Unit (Vice Unit) as well Canton Officers who work with Stark Metro Narcotics Unit, F.B.I. Safe Streets Task Force, U.S. Marshals Task Force and A.T.F. Task Force. The Captain is responsible for all operations within the Investigative Division and replies directly to the Chief of Police. The Captain is responsible for the proper performance of assigned duties by subordinates in accordance to established rules, regulations, policy and procedures related to officer performance and conduct, and the appropriate resolution of criminal investigations assigned in the Division under his command.
