As a Training Operations Manager, I oversee the design, development, scheduling, and resourcing of training programs to meet the requirements of the Training Delivery Authority (TDA) and Training Requirements Authority (TRA). I ensure compliance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and Service requirements, monitor training throughput, and address any shortfalls or excesses in trainee numbers. I collaborate with various stakeholders, including the TDA, TRA, and the Defence Fire Training Unit (DFTU), to ensure effective communication and coordination. My role involves routine monitoring of training throughput, pass rates, and feedback, as well as identifying opportunities to increase efficiency within the training pipelines.

I joined Capita Fire and Rescue in February 2023 after completing 30 years of service with Humberside Fire and Rescue. My initial role as Area Manager involved overseeing 10 MOD Fire Stations across the central region of the UK, where I worked closely with defence stakeholders to support operational delivery and resilience.In 2025, I transitioned into the role of **Training Operations Manager**, where I lead the development and delivery of training solutions aligned with defence requirements. This role builds directly on my previous experience as Head of Training at Humberside Fire and Rescue, where I championed inclusive learning environments and high-quality development pathways for operational teams.I’m passionate about continuous improvement and self-development, and I bring extensive experience in emergency preparedness, service delivery, and multi-agency collaboration. I continue to apply these strengths to enhance training standards and operational readiness across Capita’s defence fire services.
