ABOUT DAVE BYRD

I have been dedicated to the nonprofit sector for most of my career and am passionate about contributing in a thoughtful and impactful way. I have a Masters of Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco, where I wrote my capstone project on capacity building in the nonprofit sector.I am the Co-Founder and Senior Advisor at Capacity Blueprint, which is a consulting firm dedicated to supporting small nonprofits advance their missions by providing coaching, training, and support for fundraising and marketing efforts and strategies. We work with grassroots organizations to build their capacity to grow and expand their reach.I currently serve on the Board of Managers at the YMCA Stonestown Branch in San Francisco, the University of San Francisco Masters of Nonprofit Administration Advisory Board, and as the Co-chair of the Capacity Building Action Team for Shape Up San Francisco.Prior to Capacity Blueprint, I was the Grants Manager at On Lok in San Francisco, working to secure funding for programs benefiting the elderly and vulnerable populations in the region as well as providing strategic input on fundraising and program development. At East Bay Agency for Children, I worked with a team of grant writers to secure funding for programs supporting low-income children and families, including afterschool activities, child assault prevention programs and behavioral health services. I learned grant writing at the Alzheimer’s Association in San Diego and as a consultant for various organizations in Southern California. I have successfully helped to secure more than $60 million in funding for various programs and services since 2008.
