Programming for over 20 years and working in industry for over 13 of those as well as frequently attending conferences, workshops and developing new skills and learning new technologies.I take a pragmatic approach to my work and focus on delivering high quality results, within budget in a timely manner. I believe in leading by example and so seek to demonstrate a strong work ethic by producing a high standard of work (code, requirements, documentation) and having a positive attitude and calm demeanour, especially when the going gets tough. I work with honest and integrity, I believe these are key values in the workplace.When mentoring others, I try to first understand their learning style to be as efficient as possible. There is no one size fits all when it comes to learning, so with one team member I may ask them to attempt a piece work and review it with them later whereas with another team member I may request time for them to learn from written material. I have been leading team on both Agile and Waterfall projects since 2016. I believe it’s important to encourage team members to be thinkers and innovators from early in their career, this allows them to work more independently when they need to. During my career I have been mostly using Microsoft products. These include Blazor.NET/.NET Core, SQL Server and Azure. Other technologies I use include JavaScript, React.js, Vue.js, Umbraco, CQRS, Azure Message Bus, Azure DevOps, RabbitMQ and many others. Outside of work I enjoy fitness and coaching others in fitness, going to gigs and investing on the stock markets (London and New York).
