Currently a Senior Manager of Field Engineering Sales at Proofpoint responsible for Systems Engineers covering 13 states in the Midwest from Ohio to Nebraska. Proofpoint is a next generation cyber security company focused on providing solutions that protect the way people work today. After 18+ years at Cisco Systems it was time to re-energize my career. It is exciting to be part of an organization that is growing 30% YoY with a technology that provides an effective solution to a real business challenge every organization is facing. My Cisco career started as a Route/Switch systems engineer which at the time was the entire Cisco product portfolio. I attained my route/switch CCIE (5506); a certification that I actively maintain today. As the Cisco product portfolio expanded so did my technical knowledge breadth. During my 12 years as systems engineer I specialized in route/switch, collaboration/IP telephony, and data center. My passion for networking moved to the classroom as well. I taught Cisco Network Academies classes at Waukesha County Technical College for 6 years. Looking for new challenges I moved to a management role at Cisco leading a group of engineers to provide business relevant IT solutions to our customers. Our team is responsible for $90M in product bookings annually across all technologies. My primarily responsibilities include setting strategy, vision, and execution to attain revenue, customer satisfaction, and team goals. As someone who has been in the technology space for some time I enjoy BIG challenges. The more complex the better. Putting the pieces together to provide a total solution that improves time to market, reduces cost, improves product quality, improves quality of life, etc. is fun and exciting. In my spare time I like to stay active by participating in multiple sports. Golf and skiing are particular interests. I recently followed through on a life long goal of Helicopter Skiing in British Columbia.
