They are metal paintings giving free rein to the imagination, to the visual promenade of the beholder. Destructuring, decomposition of movements, working with materials, play of light, you can discover all of this in my works.\'Raw steel seemed obvious to me: a cold, austere medium, coming from the ground we tread. From this ground that we tread on, the essence of the emotions is drawn in my metal paintings which seem to spring from the wall and play with natural light. Metal is an integral part of the house, of the building, is its skeleton and suddenly springs out of the wall in volutes far removed from the architectural rigor of usual metal structures. The contrast is then expressed to reveal the ambiguity of our personalities. The curves, the volutes, the complex cuts illustrate the meanders of our minds in the face of the harshness of the material and the natural colors that it takes over time by means of patinas. I thus illustrate nature, the city, the being present or absent in this sometimes austere, sometimes protective environment.\'Frédéric Daty
