In August 2024, I led a small group of students with minimal video editing experience through an intensive training program. The course focused on the basics of DaVinci Resolve, covering video editing principles, storytelling, and key tools like AI-driven auto-captions and asset sourcing.As the students progressed, we worked on three real client projects, giving them practical experience in editing and working within professional constraints. This hands-on approach helped students apply their new skills in real-world scenarios.In the final stages, I introduced advanced topics such as sound design (Fairlight page), visual effects (Fusion page), and color grading (Color page) in DaVinci Resolve. We also explored AI tools for video creation, including AI script writing, voiceovers, and image generation, ensuring students gained a well-rounded skill set in modern video production.By the end of the course, students were confident in their abilities to handle freelance and client work, equipped with both foundational and advanced skills.Here are some things that I did differently
