Provides primary contact and the development, maintenance of relationships with Broward County non-profit organizations, service providers, local business and industry groups, municipalities and educational entities with the goal of aligning apprenticeship opportunities with employment needs, particularly in disadvantaged communities. Will partner with the Human Resources Division and other internal County agencies to create pilot apprenticeship/training opportunities within the organization. Additionally, work will business leaders, community-based organizations, and workforce partners to report periodically on progress made in aligning workforce needs with apprenticeship/training programs as part of Broward County’s larger economic development effort.• Identifies areas with workforce and employment needs for Broward County.• Meets with service/educational/training/apprenticeship providers to gain an understanding of their programs.• Meets with industry representatives to identify to create new opportunities for Apprenticeship programs.• Develops and implements an outreach and engagement strategy with workforce training/placement organizations, advisory and community groups, and individuals working in the employment training and placement industry.• Develops resource mapping, inventories, etc. of the above-mentioned groups with specific emphasis on census tracts reflecting elevated unemployment, poverty and other indicators identified as specific barriers to workforce training program entry.• Develops and implements specific promotional and public information strategies to deliver detailed apprenticeship program information.• Delivers presentations and written reports on apprenticeship programs, needs, and opportunities to executive-level agency and corporate leadership, leading to support of apprenticeship initiatives.• Develops metrics to measure the efficacy of partnership efforts.
