During my internship as a Clinical Psychology trainee at Aster Hospital, I have had the opportunity to work closely with children and their families, ensuring their hospital experience is as comfortable as possible. My primary role involves providing emotional and psychological support to pediatric patients and their parents, helping them navigate the stress and anxiety associated with medical treatments. Additionally, I have the privilege of attending Outpatient Department (OPD) sessions under the guidance of experienced supervisors. These sessions have enhanced my clinical skills by allowing me to observe and understand various psychological concerns, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies in real time. Furthermore, my internship includes active participation in the Child Development Centre (CDC) sessions, which encompass sensory, behavioral, vision, and speech therapy. Engaging in these multidisciplinary sessions has broadened my understanding of childhood developmental challenges and given me hands-on experience in working with professionals from different specializations. This internship has significantly contributed to my growth as a future clinical psychologist, equipping me with practical exposure to pediatric mental health care. It has strengthened my ability to provide compassionate psychological support while deepening my knowledge of holistic child development and therapeutic interventions.
