About Darshan Venkatesh Babu
Darshan is an experienced electrical engineer with his most recent role being the Senior Applications Engineer at Sungrow. Previously, he worked as a Senior Solar PV system design engineer for commercial and industrial buildings, ground mounts, utility-scale projects, and community solar initiatives at multinational Fortune 500 organizations including 174 Power Global (Hanwha Group) and CS Energy. Darshan also co-founded RoadPower, where he contributed to innovative clean energy generation solution for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure with renewable energy integration, big box stores and other energy demanding sites, supporting product development and deployment strategies.Earlier in his career, Darshan was with the Indian Space Research Organization — the NASA of India — where he acquired hands-on experience in voltage and power conversion systems and their related safety protocols. He was a research scholar at the University of Comillas in Madrid, Spain, where he researched energy consumption and household sustainability in the United States, and has published a paper on high voltage transformer protection in an international journal.Darshan has always been interested in innovative energy-generating technology and has participated in various tech competitions since high school, which led him to start his own venture. He has experience in product development and worked as an electronics lab research assistant at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he programmed FPGA and Arduino controllers for quantum computing projects for the DoD, and where he also earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
