Lead the Economic Development Department and ensures that Montgomery has a strong and diverse economy by promoting long-term economic growth through the revitalization of downtown, urban, and targeted suburban areas; increasing Montgomery’s tax base; providing technical and targeted financial assistance for business; preparing the workforce to meet the demands of current and emerging industries; and promoting cultural development through planning, partnerships, and related activities. Serves as an expert advisor to the Mayor and City Council on all matters relating to economic development citywide. Responsible for the management and oversight of the Departments of Community Development, Planning, Neighborhood Services, and Inspections. Oversee the creation and implementation of an economic development master plan to strategically position the City as a catalyst for tourism, innovation, entertainment, residential and retail activities.
